O’Connell Secondary School, Dublin1

O’Connell School

Principal’s Welcoming Note

Now nearly 200 years old, O’Connell Secondary School boasts a longstanding tradition of excellence. At the core of that tradition is a caring and committed teaching staff. Our goal is to inspire and motivate children to achieve their full potential.  We believe that a partnership between home and school is vital to a successful education.

As an Edmund Rice school, we are passionate about ensuring our students experience a broad and balanced curriculum, equipping them to become life-long learners, preparing them for their roles as citizens and leaders of the future.

I am extremely proud to be part of an enthusiastic and dedicated team of professionals committed to nurture, motivate and encourage our students to achieve their academic and personal development.

As your new Principal, I look forward to working with you. Working in partnership, we can ensure that O’Connell’s continues its long-standing tradition of delivering the very best in education here in Dublin city.

On behalf of all the staff, we would like to wish you and your family all the best for the new academic year ahead. We appreciate your continued support as we work towards improving our school and the wider community.

Mr. Liam Newell

School Principal.

Céad Míle Fáilte to the O’Connell Secondary School website. The 2019-20 school year marks the 192nd anniversary of the school’s foundation in 1828. To fully experience the atmosphere of this busy school in the heart of Dublin’s North Inner City beside Croke Park, we hope that as you browse our website you will, at least, get a flavour of who we are and what we do. It is impossible to capture all that happens in O’Connell Secondary School on this site. However, we think our site gives a glimpse of the wealth of experiences on offer to the students in the school.
