UNDER 17 Soccer League
28th November 2014
O’Connell School | 3 : 4 | Adamstown College
Away for our third group game in the league, the boys from North Richmond Street put in a great performance but even though they were 2-0 up, OCS sadly lost out on a final score line of 4-3. Scoreless at half time, a sublime and quite brilliant strike from Jordan Wynne put us 1-0 up and this was quickly followed by a second goal from a neat finish by Conor Darcy. However the forced withdrawal of both Dylan Kelly and Mark Corcoran through injury in the second half allowed Adamstown to get back into the game. The OCS lads were devastated to concede two quick goals to Adamstown. Matters settled down for a while but two breakaways allowed Adamstown to further increase their lead. Even though a further late goal from the in-form Conor Darcy reduced the margin, there just wasn’t enough time for OCS to grab an equaliser. Goalkeeper Calvin Kanda was steady throughout and the four lads at the back, Craig Fagan, Michael Storey, Dylan Kelly and Jordan Wynne were solid. Across the middle, Jordan Mc Cann, Adam Kavanagh, Mark Corcoran and man-of-the–match Conor Darcy were busy and business-like. Up front, Dean Murphy and Anthony White were sharp and always alert for the opportunity to strike on goal. Substitutes Dylan Gifford and Nasser Mossy were used in the second half while Cameron Donegan and Gary Gannon were not used today.
