Daniyal Khan moved from India to Ireland with his father two years ago. He has a European passport which allowed him to work here. He started school in 5th year in O Connells Secondary School in 2021. Daniel did an excellent interview and was one of the strongest candidates that applied. He was enthusiastic about the SWPP, and it was obvious he realised what a wonderful opportunity it would be to get involved. He applied because he wants to work in Finance in the future.
Daniyal was placed on Internship in Haven Green. Daniyal said that working in Haven Green was a great experience. It is a small organisation, so he said it was busy and he got to do lots of different tasks. He was involved in cleaning up reports, research, updating databases etc. While working there he discovered his strengths in computer skills and his ability to work under pressure. He enjoyed the opportunity of working in an office environment. At the end of his Summer Internship Haven Green offered Daniyal a contract and he will continue working as part of their IT team. His manager Liam Price said, “he has been an absolute pleasure to work with. He has impressed each member in our office, and it has been great to see him growing in confidence and ability throughout his time with us”.
Daniyal plans to go on to study computer science in college. Daniyal said that going for interview the first day for the SWPP was the best choice he ever made.
