We have a huge tradition of award winning soccer teams in O'Connell Secondary School. Our students compete in every cup they are eligible to play in. We have a first year soccer team an U-15 team and an U-19. Recently, we won the All-Ireland Championship in 2014 and 2019. Our students acknowledge the strength in good discipline and resilience training needed to achieve their potential on and off the field. Playing soccer helps them build these two skills. 
We are fortunate to have our very own floodlit, outdoor sports arena to train on. Our coaches ensure students complete their drills and practice before all matches. Many of our students also participate in the School Completion League which is an interschool league among the Dublin 1 area.
